The Redmi K60 was launched last year with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, and the phone came to the global market as the Poco F5 Pro. The successor is now official in China, the Redmi K70. Like the Redmi K70 Pro, the starting price of the K70 is the same as the predecessor. The phone starts at ¥2499 (~$353) and the base variant has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. For comparison, the Redmi K60 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage was launched at ¥2999 (~$423)!
The design is identical to the Redmi K70 Pro, with just an extra Purple color option.
Apart from the same design, the Redmi K70 has the same display as the K70 Pro, that is, a 6.67-inch Quad-HD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) TCL Huaxing C8 OLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 526 PPI pixel density, and 4000 nits peak brightness. The panel has a 12-bit color depth, a 2160 Hz instantaneous touch-sampling rate, and a 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The panel supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and ZREAL.
The battery is the same at 5,000mAh, and so is the charging at 120W. The phone has the same primary rear camera – a 50MP 1/1.55” sensor with an f/1.6 lens and OIS. The 16MP selfie shooter is the same, too.
The biggest difference is in performance since the Redmi K70 has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Even though this is not the latest Qualcomm chipset, it is still a flagship chip for 2023 and definitely a good upgrade over the K60’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The phone has up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera setup is also different on the rear. The ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor versus 12MP, and there is no telephoto camera on the Redmi K70. Instead, the phone has a 2MP macro camera.
And well, those are the only differences between the Redmi K70 & K70 Pro.
