Redmi K50 Gaming Edition set to launch on February 16

We have our first official look at the design

Redmi has been teasing the K50 series for quite some time, and the company has now officially announced when we are getting a phone under this series. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is officially launching on the 16th of February in China, and since Redmi did not post about other phones under this series, we are expecting those to launch later. On its Weibo page, Redmi also gave us our first look at the design of the K50 Gaming Edition from the rear.

Redmi K50 Gaming Edition

So, as we can see, design-wise, the K50 Gaming Edition does not look a lot different than the K40 Gaming Edition. There is a similar-looking triple camera setup and an LED flash module in the shape of lighting. In fact, even the text on the camera module remains the same. The only difference that we noticed was in the shape of the camera module. It is more of a rounded rectangle this time.

On the right side, there are shoulder triggers, and these are still the same mechanical triggers that you can show or hide using the sliders placed alongside them.

Well, that’s all the official image reveals, but as we know already via other sources, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a flat panel with a hole punch cutout in the middle. In terms of the specs, we do know that the phone is coming with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC. It is also expected that there is 120W fast charging support.

In the global market, we are expecting the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition to launch as the Poco F4 GT since the same happened with Redmi K40 Gaming Edition that launched as Poco F3 GT.
