Redmi K40G gaming phone to launch with Snapdragon 870

We can expect most of the specs to be similar to Redmi K40 Gaming Edition

Three months ago, Redmi K40 Gaming Edition went official in the Chinese market with the Dimensity 1200 5G chipset & some gaming-centric features like pop-up trigger buttons on the side, LED lights on the rear & more. The phone was recently launched in India as the Poco F3 GT. Well, now, Redmi is planning to launch yet another gaming-centric device & it is reportedly named the Redmi K40G. Redmi has started teasing the launch on its Weibo page.

Redmi K40G Information

Digital Chat Station, a very trusted source on Weibo, revealed the name to be K40G & further added that it is coming with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset instead of a Dimensity SOC. The translation of his post on Weibo suggests that this phone will be similar in terms of the specifications as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. So, we are expecting the major difference to be in just the chipset. The rest of the specs are expected to be the same, so the Redmi K40G might feature a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED, a 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast charging, a 64 Megapixel triple camera array on the back, pop-up gaming triggers on the side, aluminum frame & Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.

The Redmi K50 series is said to launch in the coming months, but before that, Redmi will be launching the K40G smartphone. As we mentioned in the beginning, we are yet to know when the launch is taking place in China, so stay tuned for that.
