UPDATE – NOW IT IS OFFICIAL THAT THE K30 SPEED EDITION HAS SNAPDRAGON 768G SOC
Back in December last year, the Redmi K30 5G launched in China at a starting price of 1,999 Yuan. Last month, the Redmi K30 Pro launched in China with a starting price of 2,999 Yuan. Recently, we got some information related to the Redmi K30i 5G and today, the company announced the launch of the Redmi K30 5G Speed Edition in China on May 11th.
On the official Weibo post, Redmi says that the ‘Performance is Upgraded’ which suggests the device packs a new chipset. In fact, a JD.com listing of the phone reveals that there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G SOC which is an unannounced chipset from Qualcomm.
We cannot say if it is a typo or the phone is indeed coming with this SOC. Now, the listing has been changed, and the Snapdragon 768G is no longer mentioned in the listing.
Anyways, other specs mentioned on JD.com include a 6.67-inch 120Hz LCD panel, 64MP main rear camera paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide, a 5 Megapixel telephoto macro and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage. So, these are the same specs as that of Redmi K30 5G which means if there is a performance upgrade, it is definitely in case of the SOC.
Well, we will get to know more at the launch on May 11th, and we are also expecting the Redmi K30i 5G to launch on the same day.
