Today, we finally got to know the date of launch & yes, the launch is happening this month. Manu Kumar Jain took a jab at OnePlus by saying ” Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are unleashing on 1+7 = 17th July 2019! Time for Flagship Killer 2.0″. So, this clearly shows that the company is going to compete head to head with the OnePlus 7, one of the best premium flagship that you can get under Rs 35,000 in India. Xiaomi is going to surprise with the pricing, just as it did last year at the Poco F1’s launch.

The Redmi K20 is a mid-ranger with 6.39-inch AMOLED display, in-screen fingerprint reader, Snapdragon 730 SOC, 6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, 4,000mAh battery & 18W Fast Charging. There is a triple camera setup on the rear featuring a primary 48MP camera with f/1.75 aperture lens (IMX 582 sensor), an 8MP secondary telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture lens & a third 13MP wide-angle camera with 124.8-degree FOV.

On the front, there is a single 20MP camera placed in the pop-up mechanism.

The Redmi K20 Pro isn’t much different from the K20. The significant difference comes in the form of processor. There is flagship Snapdragon 855 & the K20 Pro also has 8GB RAM variant with up to 256GB storage. One more difference comes in the form of the camera sensor of the primary camera. Unlike the IMX 582 on the K20, the K20 Pro has a primary Sony IMX 586 sensor. The K20 Pro also supports 27W Fast Charging.

The Redmi K20 price in India is not yet known, but the phone launched at a starting price of 1,999 Yuan or Rs 20,000 whereas the starting price of K20 Pro is 2,499 Yuan or Rs 25,000. So, if the company launches these phones at these prices (or maybe even cheaper), then it would be interesting to see how this is going to affect the sales of other flagships like Asus 6Z, OnePlus 7, etc.
