Redmi has launched a new budget 5G phone in the Indian market named the Redmi A4 5G, and for the price, this phone has some impressive features. It is India’s first smartphone with the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, and the brand claims this is the only phone with a 4nm Snapdragon chipset in its price segment.
Design-wise, the phone has a big circular camera module on the rear with a dual camera setup and LED flash. There is a premium glass back design, and the phone has a flat frame. The display on the front has a waterdrop notch and a thick bottom bezel. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button on the side.
Under the hood, the Redmi A4 5G has the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SOC, which is a slightly downgraded version of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. This chipset is built on the 4nm process and has an octa-core CPU clocked at up to 2.0GHz. The CPU has two Cortex-A78 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. There is 4GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB internal storage that is expandable via a microSD card.
The battery is 5,160mAh, and the phone supports 18W fast charging. In the box, the phone comes with a 33W adapter.
Speaking of cameras, the Redmi A4 5G has a dual camera setup, where the primary rear camera has a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 lens. The selfie shooter has a 5MP sensor.
The display is a 6.88-inch 720p LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits brightness.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 14 out of the box and will get two OS updates.
