The Redmi 12C was launched in China in December last year with a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and a ¥699 starting price (around $100). The phone was launched in India in April this year at ₹8,999. One of the highlights of that phone was the design. The fingerprint sensor was placed in the camera module, and the phone had a textured back for a better grip and fewer fingerprints. The company is preparing to launch the successor as the Redmi 13C renders have leaked online.
Redmi 13C has a new back design, which includes two big circular camera modules, one with the primary sensor and the other with two sensors. The camera module design resembles the recently launched Redmi Note 13 series. The text on the back says “50MP”, meaning the phone has a 50MP sensor for the primary camera, the same as Redmi 12C.
On the front, the Redmi 13C has a notch design and a big bottom chin. While it looks old school, we should remember that the 13C is an entry-level phone. There is no fingerprint sensor on the rear, which is probably on the side. Finally, a 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top and a USB Type-C port on the bottom. There is a single bottom-firing speaker. The Redmi 12C had a micro-USB port, so it is good to see Redmi going with the Type-C port this time.
There is no information on the specifications yet.
