The Redmi 12 4G was launched last year with a glass back design, and a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset. Today, the brand launched the successor, the Redmi 13 4G, in the European market. The phone has a similar design and some notable upgrades in the specifications.
Design-wise, the phone comes in three colors. There is a glass back, like its predecessor. The phone has a dual camera setup on the rear and a ring LED flash. For comparison, the Redmi 12 4G had a triple camera setup. On the front, the phone has a hole punch design and a pretty noticeable bottom chin. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the side.
Speaking of specifications, there is the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset under the hood, paired with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB or 256GB eMMC 5.1 storage. The battery is 5,030mAh and supports 33W fast charging. This is an upgrade over the 18W fast charging of the Redmi 12 4G.
The dual camera setup on the rear includes a 108MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has a 13MP sensor. For comparison, the Redmi 12 4G featured a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP setup on the rear and an 8MP selfie camera.
The display on the Redmi 13 4G is a 6.79-inch IPS LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution and up to 90Hz refresh rate. This sounds like the same panel as last year.
Finally, the phone runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, based on Android 14.
The price starts at €179 in Europe.
