Red Magic 8S Pro sets a new record with 1.7M AnTuTu score

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, is that you?

In December last year, the Red Magic 8 Pro & Red Magic 8 Pro+ launched in the Chinese market with a significant design overhaul over the previous generation. Both phones had a boxy design with flat sides, a flat display, and an under-display selfie camera. The Red Magic 8 Pro was launched globally in January, starting at $649. The brand is preparing to launch its next gaming phones under the Red Magic 8S series.

Today, Digital Chat Station shared an image on Weibo which shows the AnTuTu score of the Red Magic 8S Pro (NX729S). The AnTuTu score is over 1.7 Million points which is a new record. As per DCS, this phone uses the “high-frequency” version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which sounds like another way to say “Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2”.

The “S” series by Red Magic usually features the “Plus” series chipsets by Qualcomm, so we are expecting the same this time. For example, the Red Magic 7 series featured Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but the Red Magic 7S series had the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

The Red Magic 8S Pro retains the active cooling fan we saw in the previous generation, and on top of that, it has some improvements and optimizations for better performance and thermal management.

Finally, DCS revealed that Red Magic will also launch a gaming tablet this year, which will be the most powerful Android tablet when it launches.
