Red Magic 6S Pro unboxed ahead of September 6 launch

It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SOC

Red Magic 6s Pro is the next gaming phone from Nubia that is set to go official globally on the 6th of September, and while we still have a couple of days left for the launch, the unboxing video of the phone is already up on YouTube. A YouTuber named “ZolloTech” posted the video on his channel, and the video reveals the full design as well as the full spec sheet of the phone. So, all that we don’t know after this is the pricing for the global market.

This phone is an upgrade over the Red Magic 6 Pro, which featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC. The upcoming model features the Snapdragon 888+, so that’s perhaps one of the biggest upgrades.

Design-wise, nothing seems to be changed here as you get a similar look like the Red Magic 6 Pro. And just like the Red Magic 6 Pro, the 3.5mm headphone jack is still here. There is a vent for the fan on the left side, the volume rockers, and the switch to enable the gaming mode. On the right side, you get another vent for the fan, two shoulder buttons with a 450Hz touch-sampling rate, and a power button. The fan on the inside can spin at up to 20,000 rpm, similar to what the Red Magic 6 Pro offers.

There is a 6.8-inch AMOLED on the front with a 165Hz refresh rate and 700 nits of brightness. The resolution is 2400 x 1080 pixels. Again, this is the same panel as on the Red Magic 6 Pro. The fingerprint scanner sits under the display. There is an 8 Megapixel camera on the top bezel for selfies.

While the Red Magic 6 Pro settled for Snapdragon 888 SOC, the Red Magic 6S Pro has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus SOC. There is up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB storage for the global market. In terms of battery, you get a 5,050mAh cell, and it can be charged quickly since it supports up to 66W fast charging. For comparison, the Red Magic 6 Pro had a 4,500mAh battery while the charging speed was the same.

Red Magic 6S Pro comes with a triple camera setup on the back, and it includes a primary 64 Megapixel sensor, a secondary 8 Megapixel ultrawide, and a third 2 Megapixel macro camera. You can shoot 4K 60fps or up to 8K videos via the primary camera.

Since it is a gaming phone, you also get Game mode, so you can change some settings there as well. There, you also get the option to set the touch-sampling rate of 720Hz. The turbofan can be turned on or off, and the left vent is used for the intake, whereas the right vent is to throw out the hot air. You can also speed up or down the fan.

Well, the pricing is still a mystery, but we do know that there are two storage options – 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 256GB. The color options are named Cyborg and Ghost.
