The Red Magic 9 Pro & 9 Pro+ were launched in November last year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and both the phones were identical, with the only difference being the faster charging and more memory in the Pro+ model. The brand is all set to launch the Red Magic 10 Pro in the Chinese market on November 13, and while we have a couple of days left for the launch, the official images of the phone were shared by the company on Weibo in all the color options.
In terms of the design, the Red Magic 10 Pro looks almost similar to the Red Magic 9 Pro, but there are some subtle design changes this time. The phone still has the same boxy design as last year, but the back now has different design elements. The camera layout is the same, with almost no camera bump at all. The back has this “X” logo, which resembles the logo of “X” (formerly Twitter) and we have no idea why is it there.
One of the highlights of the Red Magic 10 Pro is the display on the front. While the Red Magic 9 Pro had pretty slim bezels last year, the Red Magic 10 Pro goes one step further and has a display with extremely slim 1.25mm bezels (if we exclude the frame). This results in an impressive 95.3% screen-to-body ratio. Moreover, there is no notch or hole punch cutout as the phone has an under-display selfie camera.
Speaking of the features that we know so far, the Red Magic 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SOC, and the display is a 6.85-inch 1.5K 144Hz OLED panel by BOE with a 2000 nits peak brightness. For comparison, the Red Magic 9 Pro featured a 120Hz 1.5K OLED panel with a 1600 nits peak brightness. So, there is a big upgrade in the display this year.
Let’s see at what price the Red Magic 10 Pro is launched in China. For comparison, the Red Magic 9 Pro was launched at a starting price of ¥4399 (~$610).
