Realme X50m 5G launched with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G

In January, the Realme X50 5G launched in China with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC, a 120Hz LCD panel and Quad cameras. Today, Realme launched a ‘Lite’ version of the phone named Realme X50m 5G.

As the name suggests, it is a 5G phone just like the Realme X50. In fact, the SOC is the same, i.e., the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC. The price starts at 1,999 Yuan for the X50m 5G which translates to well under $300.

The design remains unchanged from the X50 5G as it has the same dual punch-hole selfie camera on the front and a Quad camera setup on the rear placed vertically on the top left. The back panel has a new design that is similar to that on the Realme 6. The fingerprint scanner is on the right side and USB Type-C port on the bottom. So, design-wise, there isn’t any change at all.

On the front, there is a 6.57-inch Full-HD+ LCD panel with 120Hz refresh rate. So, the display is exactly the same as X50 5G. There is Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SOC with 5G support, 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

The major difference between the X50 5G and X50m 5G is in the camera department. While the Realme X50 5G featured a 64 Megapixel primary rear camera, the X50m 5G has a 48 Megapixel primary camera. Also, instead of a telephoto camera like on the X50 5G, the X50m 5G has a depth sensor. Other two cameras include an 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera and a 2 Megapixel macro camera.

Even on the front, there is a change in the camera setup. There is a 16 Megapixel primary camera just like X50 5G, but instead of having an ultrawide second camera, there is a normal 2 Megapixel depth sensor.

Finally, there is a 4,200mAh battery & 30W Fast Charging. RealmeUI runs out of the box which is based on Android 10.

The Realme X50m 5G comes in White and Purple color options. Right now, it is available for pre-order in China and will be available from April 29th. The 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at 1,999 Yuan ($282) whereas the 8GB + 128GB variant at 2,299 Yuan ($324).
