Realme X with Snapdragon 710 launched in India at Rs 16,999

Today, Realme launched two new phones in India, & we already talked about the Realme 3i in our previous post. Perhaps the most exciting launch that happened today was the Realme X. It is a premium mid-range phone from the company that was launched in China a couple of months back.

The phone features a Full-screen design, a pop-up selfie camera, an AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 710, 48MP rear camera & more for a starting price of Rs 16,999.

Realme X comes with a full-screen design, which means there is no notch, not cutout, no hole-punch for the selfie camera. So, the selfie camera is placed in the pop-up mechanism, probably the first in the sub-Rs 20,000 price in India. There is a plastic build so don’t get confused with the glass-like back panel. There is a dual-camera setup on the back & the fingerprint scanner is placed under the display.

On the front, there is a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 91.2% screen-to-body ratio & Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The fingerprint scanner is placed under the screen, making it the first Realme device to have an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

A lot of users were expecting that Realme would launch the phone with a different processor in the Indian market, but that didn’t happen. The phone has a 10nm Snapdragon 710 SOC, the same chip that powers the Realme 3 Pro. There is 4/8GB RAM & 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.

The Realme X is also the first Realme device to feature a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor. There are dual cameras on the back with a primary 48MP camera & a secondary 5MP depth sensor. On the front, there is a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor. FYI, this is the same front camera that’s there on the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.

The battery underneath is a 3,765mAh battery that supports 20W VOOC Flash Charge as well. The phone has a Type-C port & does feature the headphone jack.

Android Pie runs out of the box with Color OS 6 on top. The phone also features Dolby ATMOS audio.

There is a Master Edition as well that has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage & is design by Naoto Fukasawa. The Master Edition comes in two unique colors – Onion & Garlic.

And that’s not it! The Realme X also has a Spider-Man: Far From Home Edition that comes with a unique box, a customized case & a spiderman themed UI.

Coming to the pricing, the regular Realme X comes in Polar White & Space Blue while the Master Edition in Onion & Garlic color options. The price is as follows –

  • 4GB + 128GB – Rs 16,999
  • 8GB + 128GB – Rs 19,999 (Same Price for the Master Edition)
  • Realme X Spider-Man: Far From Home Edition (8GB + 128GB) – Rs 20,999

The first sale happens on 18th July at 8 PM where the Space Blue & the Polar White color options will be on sale. The Master Edition goes on sale in August. The phone is Flipkart Exclusive in India & you can also buy it via Realme’s official website.
