Realme GT Neo 3 launched in March, and the main USP of that phone was 150W fast charging support. Usually, Realme upgrades its phones every five to six months, which means we should’ve got the successor to GT Neo 3 by now. But still, there hasn’t been any announcement by Realme on any upcoming phone under the GT Neo series.
Well, for the past few days, we have been getting leaks about the Realme GT Neo 5, the successor to the GT Neo 3. It is said that the launch is happening soon, and recently, we even got the first look at the rear design.
Now, the specifications have also surfaced online, shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo.
According to the source, Realme GT Neo 5 has 240W fast charging support, which is ridiculously fast. Do note that Oppo showcased 240W charging technology in February at the MWC 2022. This technology can charge a 4,500mAh cell from 0 to 100% in less than 10 minutes. So, Realme will use that technology in the upcoming GT Neo 5 smartphone. As for the battery size, the variant with 240W charging support has a 4,600mAH battery, whereas the one with 150W charging support has a 5,000mAh battery.
Under the hood, there is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, so while it is not the latest Snapdragon chip, it is still an upgrade over the Dimensity 8100 SOC that powered the GT Neo 3.
The primary camera on the rear has a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS and an f/1.79 lens. While we do not know about other sensors, they most likely include an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. The display size is 6.7 inches, and it is a 1.5K resolution panel (2772 x 1240) with a 144Hz refresh rate. The fingerprint scanner is present under the display & there is a plastic frame.
Another interesting thing to note is that Digital Chat Station mentioned “RGB Lights,” which suggests the Realme GT Neo 5 could be the first Realme phone to feature RGB lights.
Well, the specifications are exciting so let’s see at what price the phone launches.
