Last month, Realme GT Neo 2 launched in the Chinese market with a really impressive spec sheet for a phone with starting price well under $400 (when converted from Yuan). The phone has a 120Hz Samsung’s E4 AMOLED panel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G SOC, a 5,000mAh cell, and 65W fast charging. Now, the company is bringing that phone to India as the official launch in India is set to happen on the 13th of this month. This means we still have almost a week left for the launch.
Design-wise, there is a new camera module design this time that has two big camera lenses and one small sensor. The camera module also has two separate flash modules. The rest of the design is pretty similar to Realme GT Neo or the Realme X7 Max, with that flat display on the front having a hole-punch cutout in the corner. Unlike the Realme X7 Max, however, the GT Neo 2 does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The phone is rocking a 6.62-inch display & this is a Samsung’s E4 AMOLED panel with a Full-HD+ resolution & 120Hz refresh rate. So, in terms of the display, Realme has not done any cost-cutting. There is even a fingerprint scanner under this display, something many companies don’t offer in this price segment to reduce costs. That hole-punch cutout in the corner includes a 16-megapixel sensor in it.
On the back, the phone has a triple camera setup that includes a primary 64MP shooter, a secondary 8MP ultrawide & a third 2MP macro camera. So, the camera setup remains the same as on the Realme X7 Max, aka the Realme GT Neo.
Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G SOC and Realme claims that this phone has the best 5G processor in its price range, which makes us believe that the price of the Realme GT Neo 2 in India will be very similar to that of the Realme X7 Max that started at ₹26,999 when it launched.
Finally, the phone packs a 5,000mAh battery inside and also supports 65W fast charging, a combo that is first for any Realme phone.
Well, the pricing is not yet known but as we mentioned above, expect it to be very similar to that of Realme X7 Max.
