In our previous article, we talked in detail about the Realme GT Master Edition. Alongside that phone, the company also launched the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition. So, while the Master Edition is a mid-range device, the Master Explorer Edition is a high-end phone with a premium design & powerful hardware. Some of the highlights of this phone include the Snapdragon 870 5G, a Sony IMX766 camera sensor with OIS, a curved AMOLED panel, and more.
Design-wise, the Master Explorer Edition has the same “Suitcase” inspired back panel design as in the case of the Master Edition. The only difference is that there is now an extra color option with that design apart from the gray color. There are two more color options that are the same as in the case of Master Edition, i.e., Snow & Dawn. Looks-wise, Realme GT Master Explorer Edition instantly looks more premium than the Master Edition. It has a more boxy look, a bigger camera module on the back & a curved display on the front.
Internally, there is a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SOC under the hood, which sits just below the Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance. There is up to 12GB RAM & 256GB storage. The battery size is also bigger at 4,500mAh, but the charging speed remains the same, i.e., 65W.
Perhaps the biggest upgrade apart from the chipset comes in the cameras. There are three cameras on the back, so the camera count doesn’t change. But, what’s changed is the sensors. There is a primary 50 Megapixel Sony IMX766 camera sensor (1/1.56″) with OIS & this is the same camera sensor we have seen on the OnePlus 9 Pro. Along with this, there is a 16 Megapixel Sony IMX481 camera sensor with an ultrawide lens. Finally, there is a 2 Megapixel camera for macro shots. The phone is capable of 4K 60fps video recording.
The front camera is the same as in the case of Master Edition, i.e., 32MP.
In terms of the display, Realme GT Master Explorer Edition comes with a 6.55-inch AMOLED which has its sides curved at 56-degrees. This panel supports up to 120Hz refresh rate & 480Hz touch-sampling rate. The peak brightness is 1,100 nits & the contrast ratio is 6000000:1. Finally, it is protected with the Gorilla Glass 5.
Finally, coming to the pricing, there are four color options & two storage options. Here is the pricing for China –
- 8GB + 128GB – ¥2899 ($449)
- 12GB + 256GB – ¥3199 ($495)
Just as in the case of the Master Edition, the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition will go on sale in China on the 29th of July & the pre-orders have begun already.
