Realme GT with Snapdragon 888 launched globally

The price starts at €449!

Three months after its launch in the Chinese market, Realme GT finally made its way to the global market as the device was launched today. It is a flagship phone from the brand powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC and comes with an impressive spec sheet that includes features such as a 120Hz AMOLED, 65W charging, 64 Megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor, etc. The phone is also coming to the Indian market soon, as revealed by the company already.

Design-wise, it features a glass back, and in a typical Realme fashion, the back panel shows a unique pattern when the light falls on it. There are three cameras on the rear placed in a rectangular camera housing on the top left. The fingerprint scanner sits under the display, and the panel includes a single-hole punch cutout on the top left corner. Interestingly, this phone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, something that Realme removed from its last year’s flagship, the X50 Pro.

On the front, there is a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED panel featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and Full-HD+ resolution. The panel supports up to 360Hz touch-response rate. So in terms of the display, it is definitely top-notch. Under the hood, it gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC which is currently the fastest chipset that Qualcomm makes. There is a “Stainless steel” cooling system as well, and it is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, so, in terms of performance, it scores maximum points.

The cameras are probably the least interesting part of this phone. There is a triple camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 64 Megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide unit and a 2 Megapixel macro camera. On the front is a 16 Megapixel shooter. The rear camera is capable of shooting 4K 60fps videos, but that is not a surprise considering it has the Snapdragon 888 SOC.

In terms of the battery, Realme GT has a 4,500mAh cell that can be charged quickly, thanks to the 65W SuperDart charge support. Realme says you can top up the battery from 0 to 100% in a mere 35 minutes.

Realme GT comes with Realme UI 2.0 out of the box, which is based on Android 11. Also, the phone is one of the first to get the Android 12 Developer Beta.

Coming to the pricing, Realme GT comes in two variants, and here is the pricing for Europe –

  • 8GB + 128GB – €449
  • 12GB + 256GB -€599

From June 21st to June 22nd, you can get the 12GB + 256GB variant for as low as €499 in the Amazon Prime Day sale.

So the starting price is equivalent to $544 / Rs 40,000, but as we know, the European pricing is higher than markets such as India due to taxes and other factors. Since Realme is marketing this phone as a “Flagship Killer” in the Indian market, it seems like the company is going to launch it at a pretty aggressive price.
