The Realme GT 7 Pro was officially launched in China in November last year with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a starting price of ¥3599 (~$500). At the launch, it was the most affordable phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset in China. Now, the brand has launched another phone with this chipset in this series, the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition. It is priced lower than the GT 7 Pro but the lower price doesn’t mean a downgraded performance. The phone still uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset under the hood.
Design-wise, there is one noticeable change versus the GT 7 Pro. The Racing Edition has a dual camera setup, not a triple camera setup. So, the third circle on the rear has a ring LED flash. The phone comes in two colors: one is Titanium, which is the same as the GT 7 Pro, and the other is Blue. The phone has a metal frame and a glass back. There is an IP68 & IP69 rating.
Under the hood, the phone has the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (4.32GHz CPU) with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
The display is a 6.78-inch 120Hz 8T LTPO OLED with a 6000 nits local peak brightness and a 1600 nits global peak brightness. One downgrade is the fingerprint scanner. The Realme GT 7 Pro has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, whereas the Realme GT 7 Pro Racing Edition has an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
Speaking of the cameras, the Racing Edition has two rear cameras. The primary camera has a 1/1.56″ 50MP Sony IMX896 sensor with OIS support, and the ultrawide camera has an 8MP sensor. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor. For comparison, the GT 7 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor for the primary camera. The phone can shoot 4K videos at up to 60fps, from the rear camera, but the selfie camera is limited to 1080p 60fps videos.
Finally, there is a massive 6,500mAh battery with 120W wired charging.
