The Master Edition phones by Realme are always a treat to look at because the design is one of their main highlights. Last year, we got the Realme GT Master Edition & Realme GT Explorer Master Edition. For those phones, the designer, ‘Naoto Fukasawa,’ took inspiration from a Travel Suitcase, which explains the rear design of those phones.

Today, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition launched in China, and this is a premium flagship phone by the brand. This time, the phone has been designed by Jae-Jung, a renowned fashion designer.

There are three color options, and as always, only one has the Master Edition design. Realme calls it a “Classic Travel Trunk” design. There are aero metal flat sides, vegan leather on the back, and iconic metal rivets. This time, there is no signature of the designer on the rear, so the back looks clean with only the company’s logo. Realme has named this color option the ‘Wilderness.’.

As for the other two color options, the phone comes in White and Black color options, officially named ‘Snowfield’ and ‘Black Beach.’

On the front, Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition has very thin bezels around the display. The chin is just 2.37mm, the forehead is 1.84mm, and the bezels on the side are 1.48mm thick. It is a 6.7-inch 10-bit AMOLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 1000Hz instantaneous touch-response rate, and 94.2% screen-to-body ratio.

Realme also added the X7 display chip in this phone, which offers features such as Hardware-level Super Resolution Technology and 4X frame interpolation. The latter can interpolate the frame rates from 30fps to 120fps. There are even pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers on this phone that are hidden.

Under the hood, Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition has the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, so that makes it the first Realme flagship featuring this SOC. This is also the company’s first smartphone featuring LPDDR5X RAM, which offers up to 20% less power consumption than LPDDR5 RAM. For better cooling, there is a Dual Stainless Steel VC cooling.

The camera setup is quite familiar with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the primary camera with OIS, a 50MP sensor with an ultrawide lens (150-degree), and a macro camera that offers up to 40X magnification. There is a 16MP selfie shooter.

Finally, the phone has a 5,000mAH battery and supports 100W fast charging, which is capable of fully charging the battery in just 25 minutes. Realme says this is the Industry’s first 100W charging solution with a Gallium Nitride Semiconductor material. The phone comes with a 100W GaN adapter in the box. Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12.
