Along with the launch of Realme X2 today in India, Realme also announced some other stuff that includes Realme Buds Air, the company’s first truly wireless earbuds. The earbuds have a design inspired by Apple’s Airpods but cost just Rs 3,999 in India, which is almost $56! At this price, you get a lot of features like Wireless Charging support, R1 Chip, Dual Mic, Dynamic Bass Boost Driver, etc.

There isn’t anything unique in the design when you compare these to Apple Airpods. Just taking a look at them, you will say that they are a blatant rip-off of Apple’s Airpods. In fact, the case also has the same design. The only difference in looks is that they come in multiple color options that include White, Yellow & Black. So, you can buy one based on your color choice.

Thanks to Smart In-ear detection, they will automatically turn into music playback the moment you put them in your ear. Similarly, the music playback will be paused when you remove them. That’s possible due to the Optical Sensor present on the top. Then there is built-in Google Assistant as well, so you can simply long-press on one side to launch it.

Since there are touch controls, you can do various things like double-tapping to answer a call & play/pause the music, triple tap to skip to next song, long press on one side to end a call or decline it & finally, long-pressing on both the sides to enable Gaming Mode!

Talking about the Gaming Mode, Realme claims that the latency is as low as 120ms, which is impressive considering this number is normally 204ms for typical truly wireless earbuds. For better sound, there is a 12mm bass boost driver as well. Each earbud has dual-mic for calling as well as Noise Cancellation.

There is a customized R1 Chip with Bluetooth 5.0 that enables the instant connection between the phone & the earbuds & also provided High Power Efficiency. With just a simple press of a button, you can pair them with your phone. After that, whenever you open the case, Realme Buds Air connect to your phone instantly.

Apart from USB Type-C charging, the Realme Buds Air support Wireless Charging, so that’s perhaps the first for any true-wireless earbuds under Rs 5,000 in India.

Finally, coming to the pricing & availability, the Earbuds come in three colors – Black, White & Yellow. They are priced at Rs 3,999 in India & can be bought from Realme.com or Flipkart. You will be able to buy them in the first sale scheduled on December 23rd in India.
