Realme 9i live images confirm the ‘GT Neo 2-esque’ design

The specifications were revealed too

In December, we learned that Realme will launch the 9i smartphone in January 2022 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SOC. Later, we also got the unofficial renders of the phone which revealed a design similar to the Realme GT Neo 2. Today, we got the live images of the phone itself, and these images do not just show the design from all the angles but also confirm the design shown via the unofficial renders that we saw earlier. These live images of the phone were shared by ThePixel.

So, as we can see, Realme 9i does have a design similar to the GT Neo 2, which is a premium mid-range phone from the brand. Since the 9i is a budget offering, it does not have premium materials. There is a polycarbonate back as well as the frame. Now, the back has ridges, providing a better grip.

The camera module design is similar to GT Neo 2, so there is a triple camera setup and an LED flash. It is worth mentioning that GT Neo 2 had two separate flash modules in the camera module, but there is only one on the 9i. The phone has a Type-C port on the bottom alongside the 3.5mm headphone jack and the speaker grill. The power button is on the right side, and it doubles as the fingerprint reader too.

The volume rockers are on the left side, along with the SIM card tray.

On the front, Realme 9i has a flat panel with a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner.

Speaking of the specs, the phone has a 6.59-inch LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SOC under the hood, and it is built on the 6nm process. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. In terms of the cameras, we are looking at a primary 50MP sensor and two 2MP sensors, one for macro and the other for depth information. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera.

We do not know yet when the phone will launch in Europe or India, but in Vietnam, the phone is set to go official on the 10th of this month.
