Recently, we got the first Realme 9 series phone in India, the Realme 9i. Soon, we are getting a few more phones under this series, and a few days ago, we got to know the specifications & also the design of the Realme 9 Pro. There were already rumors of a “Pro Plus” device under this series, and today, Realme officially confirmed that too. Today, we also got to know the design and the specifications of Realme 9 Pro+. These details were shared by OnLeaks in collaboration with SmartPrix.
Design-wise, there is no difference between the Pro & Pro Plus variant. Both the phones have the same camera module on the back with the same number of cameras. There is the same flat panel with a hole punch on the front. One thing that differentiates the two phones is the text on the camera module. In the case of the Realme 9 Pro+, the text says ’50MP OIS’, clearly indicating that the primary 50MP camera has OIS, which is the first for any Realme phone under the number series.
The specifications of the phone include a 6.43-inch AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G SOC, up to 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage. Interestingly, Realme 9 Pro is said to have a 120Hz AMOLED, whereas the Pro Plus variant is getting a 90Hz AMOLED. The battery size is 4,500mAh for the Pro+ variant, which is again smaller than the 5,000mAh battery of Realme 9 Pro. The reason for a smaller battery could be a faster-charging technology than what the Realme 9 Pro supports (33W).
On the back, there are three cameras. There is a primary camera with a 50MP sensor, and this one is a custom Sony sensor. The primary camera has OIS too. The other two cameras remain the same as the Pro variant. So, we have an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera on the front.
Because this phone has the Dimensity 920 SOC, it seems like Realme’s answer to the Xiaomi 11i, which has the same chip and starts at ₹24,999. But, that phone has a 120Hz AMOLED, a big 5160mAh battery, 67W charging, and a 108MP primary sensor. We do not know at what price the company will launch the Realme 9 Pro+ but looking at these specs, the starting price could be higher than ₹20K.
