Realme 8s Starting Price in India
₹17,999

Realme 8s 5G is the newest 5G phone from the brand under its Realme 8 lineup of phones, and it launched alongside the Realme Pad and Realme 8i today in India. The main highlight of the 8s is its MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G SOC. In fact, this is the first phone that is powered by this SOC from MediaTek. As the name suggests, this SOC offers better performance than the likes of Dimensity 800U, which powers phones like the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion.

Now, Realme 8s 5G starts at ₹17,999 in India, and so the already confusing price segment of ₹15-20K has become even more confusing with this newest addition.

Design-wise, this phone is very similar to the Realme 8 5G as it has the same camera module design, a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Interestingly, while the much cheaper Realme 8i offers a 120Hz IPS LCD, the Realme 8s settles for a 90Hz IPS LCD. The Quad camera array on the back includes a primary 64 Megapixel sensor, a secondary B&W sensor, and a third macro camera. So, a phone priced at ₹17,999 doesn’t have an ultrawide camera which is weird! There is a 16MP selfie camera.

The battery size is 5,000mAh, and you get a 33W adapter with the phone.

So, the only highlight of this phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 810, which is based on the 6nm fabrication process and is paired with 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The video recording is limited to FHD 30fps, which is again a surprise for a phone powered by Dimensity 810 SOC.

Realme 8s comes in two colors named Universe Blue & Universe Purple. There are two storage options, and here is the pricing –

  • 6GB + 128GB – ₹17,999
  • 8GB + 128GB – ₹19,999

The first sale happens on the 13th of September, and you can buy the phone from Flipkart or Realme India’s website.
