Six months after the launch of Realme 6i, the company launched Realme 7i today in the Indonesian market. It is a budget device featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, a 90Hz display, 64 Megapixel Quad camera setup & more for a price of Rp 3.199.000, which is equivalent of $214 or Rs 15,750.
It is worth mentioning that this phone is not the successor of the Realme 6i that is available in the Indian market since that phone is available outside India as the Realme 6s.
REALME 7i – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
Design-wise, there is glossy plastic on the rear & a Quad camera setup placed on the top left in a rectangular camera module. The fingerprint scanner is on the rear as well. There us a USB Type-C Port on the bottom along with the 3.5mm headphone jack & the speaker grill. On the front, there is a display with a hole-punch cutout on the top left.
The phone weighs around 188 grams & the thickness is 8.5-8.9mm.
There is a 6.5-inch LCD on the front with 720p resolution & a 90Hz refresh rate. So while the display is not very sharp due to a low resolution, it is very smooth due to a high-refresh-rate. The display also has the Gorilla Glass protection.
Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SOC, which was announced at the beginning of this year & is the same in terms of the performance as the Snapdragon 665 but offers a different ISP. Interestingly, there is only one storage option for the Realme 7i & it is 8GB + 128GB. We rarely see such a RAM & ROM combination for budget devices.
The Quad Camera setup on the rear includes a primary 64 Megapixel shooter with an f/1.8 aperture lens, a secondary 8 Megapixel ultrawide camera, a 2 Megapixel B&W Portrait Lens, & a 2 Megapixel Macro camera. There is no 4K video recording support. On the front, there is a 16 Megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies.
Realme 7i comes with a big 5,000mAh battery & support for 18W Fast Charging via the Type-C port. Realme UI based on Android 10 runs out of the box.
REALME 7i – PRICING & AVAILABILITY
There are two color options – Aurora Green & Polar White. It is available in only one storage option i.e., 8GB + 128GB & the price is Rp3.199.000 for the Indonesian market. The sale starts on September 18th & there is an early bird discount that brings the price down to Rp3.099.000.
