Realme 6 Pro with Snapdragon 720G launched in India

Alongside the Realme 6, the Realme 6 Pro also launched in the Indian market today & as we said in the previous article on the Realme 6, the ‘6 Pro’ is a successor of Realme X instead of being a successor of Realme 5 Pro of last year.

There are a lot of things that make it one of the best phones under Rs 20,000 in India, but now that there are phones like Poco X2 in the same price range, it would be interesting to see how well Realme is able to sell this device.

REALME 6 PRO – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

While the camera setup is placed in the same manner as on the Realme 6, the pattern on the rear panel is new, which makes the Realme 6 Pro stand out & look unique. Realme calls it a “Lightning design” since the pattern is inspired by Lightning.

Another difference in the design is on the front where there is a dual punch-hole selfie camera setup. So, it is the same design as the Realme X50 Pro except for the fact that the display is LCD and not AMOLED. The 3.5mm headphone jack is placed on the bottom alongside the USB Type-C port & the speaker grill. There is a side-facing fingerprint scanner just like the Realme 6.

While the design on the front is the same as Poco X2, one huge advantage that Realme 6 Pro has got is that there is a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 105-degree FOV instead of a depth sensor as on the Poco X2. This ultra-wide-angle lens is paired with a 16 Megapixel primary camera with Sony IMX471 sensor.

The display on the front is a 6.6-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Under the hood, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SOC & Realme 6 Pro is the first smartphone to launch with this SOC. It is built on the 8nm fabrication process & comes with the same GPU as Snapdragon 730G, i.e., Adreno 618. The SOC also has the 5th Generation Qualcomm AI Engine. There is 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM & 64/128GB UFS 2.1 storage. Like Realme 6, there is a triple card slot, so that’s nice.

Coming to the cameras now, there is a Quad camera setup on the back that includes a primary 64 Megapixel camera with Samsung GW1 sensor, a secondary 12 Megapixel 2X Telephoto lens, an 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with 119-degree FOV, and a 2 Megapixel Macro lens.

The battery underneath is a 4,300mAh unit & the phone also comes with 30W VOOC Flash Charge support. Android 10 runs out of the box with Realme UI on top.
