Realme launched two phones today under the Realme 5 Series – the Realme 5 & the 5 Pro. Now, we already talked about the Realme 5 in our previous article where we shared all the details like the design, the specifications, the pricing & the availability.
In this article, let’s talk about the Realme 5 Pro, which might just have killed the competition by offering crazy specs like Snapdragon 712 SOC, Quad Cameras, VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge, UFS 2.1 storage & more at a starting price of Rs 13,999!
REALME 5 PRO – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
Like the Realme 5, the 5 Pro has a Crystal Design, but again, there is plastic & not glass back. Still, that’s not a big issue as Realme has used high-quality plastic here & the design looks stunning. This is undoubtedly among the best looking phones under Rs 15,000.
There is one major difference in the design when you compare it with that of Realme 5. Realme 5 Pro has a USB Type-C port so, finally we are getting a Type-C port, something we didn’t get with the Realme 3 Pro. Except for that, the design is the same as Realme 5 with a vertically placed Quad Camera setup on the rear, a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, a display with waterdrop notch etc.
The Realme 5 Pro has a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080) LCD panel with 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. So, the rumours of an AMOLED panel were false. The phone packs the Snapdragon 712 SOC & it is an upgrade to the Snapdragon 710 in the sense that its CPU is clocked at 2.3GHz compared to 2.2GHz in case of the Snapdragon 710. So, there is a performance boost of around 10%.
The phone comes with 4/6/8GB RAM & 64/128GB storage. It also has a triple card slot, so that’s a good thing. As mentioned in the beginning, the storage is UFS 2.1 instead of eMMC 5.1 that we normally see in this price segment. So, the read/write speeds are higher.
Coming to the cameras, the Realme 5 Pro has almost the same camera setup as Realme 5 except for one difference. The primary camera is a 48MP shooter with Sony IMX 586 sensor & f/1.79 aperture lens. Rest of the cameras are the same as Realme 5, i.e., an 8MP wide-angle camera with 119-degree FOV, a 2MP macro camera with 4cm shooting distance & a 2MP depth sensor.
The front camera is a 16MP Sony IMX 471 sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens. Some camera features are AI HDR, AI beauty, AI scene recognition, 48MP mode, Chrome boost, Super nightscape, Filter mode, Panorama mode, Expert mode etc. There is EIS for both the front and rear cameras.
Just like Realme 5, the Realme 5 Pro has a splash-proof design, so that’s a good thing. Under the hood, you have a 4,035mAh battery that supports 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0. Moreover, you get the 20W Adapter in the box, so that’s impressive.
REALME 5 PRO – PRICING & AVAILABILITY
Realme 5 Pro comes in two colours – Crystal Green & Sparkling Blue. The pricing is as follows –
- 4GB + 64GB – Rs 13,999
- 6GB + 64GB – Rs 14,999
- 8GB + 128GB – Rs 16,999
