Realme is all set to launch the successor to the Realme 1 on August 28, and we already know a lot about the phone. It is almost confirmed that the phone will be just a rebranded Oppo A5 so you can expect the specifications to remain the same. Most of the specifications of the phone have leaked today, revealing that Realme 2 is not a successor to the Realme 1 if we consider all the specifications (especially the chipset).
Realme 1 with the Helio P60 processor shocked everyone when it was launched at a starting price under Rs 10K in India. It was previously expected that if not a successor, we will see the same P60 chipset on the Realme 2. But, that’s not the case as the phone is launching on August 28 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. This chipset is nowhere near the Helio P60 if we talk about the performance. It is a pretty weird choice for a chipset since the last generation phone packs a better processor. So, we are expecting that Realme will be keeping the price well under Rs 10K for both the 3GB and 4GB variants of the phone.
The phone is 8.2mm thick and packs a big 4,230mAh battery underneath. Also, despite a big battery, the phone weighs only 168 grams. There are only two variants of the phone – 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. Realme 2 has dual rear cameras that include a primary 13MP camera and a secondary 2MP camera. On the front, there is an 8MP camera. Both the rear and front cameras have AI Beautification, Portrait Mode, and HDR.
Realme 2 has a 19:9 6.2-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. It is another con of this device since the Realme 1 has a Full-HD+ display. Unlike the Realme 1, the Realme 2 has a fingerprint scanner, along with the Face Unlock. The phone supports dual 4G VoLTE as well.
