Realme 14x 5G is now official in the Indian market, making it the first phone under the Realme 14 series. There was no Realme 13x from the company but we did have a Realme 12x 5G which was launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SOC and 45W fast charging.
The Realme 14x 5G has one feature as its main selling point, and that’s IP68 + IP69 certification. This makes it the most affordable smartphone in the country with an IP68 + IP69 rating. The phone has also passed the MIL-STD 810H military-grade shock resistance test. As for the build quality, it is still a polycarbonate shell, so no surprises here. The back has a rectangular camera module with a dual camera setup. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the side, and there is a single bottom-firing speaker.
The phone comes with a “SonicWave Water Ejection” feature, which uses the vibration of the speaker to remove water in case water accumulates in the phone. The phone also has a “Rainwater Smart Touch” feature, making it easier to use the display with wet hands.
Realme 14x 5G has a massive 6,000mAh battery and supports 45W fast wired charging.
Speaking of the rest of the specifications, they’re rather underwhelming. There is a 6.67-inch LCD with a 720p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For the price at which this phone has launched, a 720p LCD panel is the biggest con. The brightness of this LCD goes up to 625 nits. The chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, which is not the most powerful chipset that you will get at this price. There is up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The dual camera setup on the rear includes a primary camera with a 1/2.88″ 50MP OV50D sensor and a secondary unknown sensor. The selfie camera has an 8MP sensor. The phone can shoot up to 1080p 30fps videos from both cameras.
Finally, Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 runs out of the box, and the brand has promised two OS updates for this phone.
