Poco M3 Pro 5G is now official as the phone launched globally today. For a starting price of just €159 (Early bird price), this phone offers a 5G SOC, a 90Hz display, a 5,000mAh battery, and a unique design on the back. While it is a new phone from Poco, it isn’t a new phone at all. This is just a rebrand of the Redmi Note 10 5G, and all that’s changed apart from the name is the design on the back along with the color options, something Poco has done with most of its phones in the past.
The back design of the Poco M3 Pro 5G is unique as it has a dual-tone look. The region around the camera module is painted black and has the POCO branding in it. This is the case with all the color options. There is a triple camera setup on the back, and the fingerprint scanner sits on the right side, which doubles as the power button. On the front, there is a display with a centered hole-punch cutout, and on the bottom, there is a Type-C port. The phone also has stereo speakers.
The panel on the front is a 6.5-inch LCD with Full-HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is a Dynamic Switch panel which means the refresh rate can vary between 30Hz,50Hz,60Hz, and 90Hz depending on the content on the screen. Under the hood, this phone gets the Dimensity 700 5G SOC from MediaTek, which is based on a 7nm process and is paired with 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.
On the back, there are three cameras that include a primary 48 Megapixel shooter with f/1.79 aperture and a 1/2″ sensor, a 2 Megapixel macro camera, and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. The rear camera can shoot up to FHD 30fps videos. On the front, there is an 8 Megapixel camera for selfies.
Finally, the Poco M3 Pro 5G has a 5,000mAh cell and supports 18W fast charging. MIUI 12, based on Android 11, runs out of the box.
