In November last year, the Poco M3 launched in the global market for an early bird price of $149 only. It launched as the successor to the Poco M2, which went official in India just a couple of months before the launch of M3. Well, today, M3 was launched in the Indian market, and it comes with a starting price tag of Rs 10,999, for which it offers the Snapdragon 662 SOC, a 6,000mAh battery, a Full-HD+ panel, and more.
Design-wise, it is definitely one of the most unique looking devices in this price segment. There is a textured back panel having a leather-like finish and a camera module that starts from one edge and goes all the way to the other. It has not only the camera setup but also the big POCO branding. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the right side, which doubles as the power button, and there are stereo front-firing speakers. The phone features a Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and also an IR blaster.
Just like the Poco M2, M3 has a Full-HD+ panel, and it is a 6.53-inch LCD with a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SOC, which is paired with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The storage is further expandable up to 512GB, thanks to the microSD card slot.
The triple camera setup on the back includes a primary 48 Megapixel shooter paired with a 2 Megapixel macro camera and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8 Megapixel camera for selfies. The phone has a 6,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging (an 18W adapter comes in the box). Finally, MIUI 12 runs out of the box.
In India, the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM is priced at Rs 10,999 while the 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 11,999. It will be available to buy on the 9th of February via Flipkart. The color options remain unchanged, i.e., Yellow, Blue, and Black.
