Well, it looks like the Poco brand is all about rebranding. Poco made a comeback in the smartphone market with the Poco X2 which was a rebranded Redmi K30 & then the company launched Poco F2 Pro in Europe which is just a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro. Today, the Poco M2 Pro launched in India & to no surprise, it is just a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro.
Now, Redmi K30 didn’t launch in India, so it makes sense to launch it under a different name in the Indian market. But, the Redmi Note 9 Pro launched in India in March this year so launching the same phone under a different brand at the same price makes no sense at all!
POCO M2 PRO – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS
The M2 Pro has a two-tone finish on the rear panel, something that the Indian variant of Redmi Note 9 Pro lacks but is there for the global variant. The camera module also has a slightly different design compared to the Indian variant of Note 9 Pro.
Except that, there is no difference between the two phones. There is the same display, same thickness, same weight, same length, and the same ports and button placement.
There is no difference at all in the specifications except for the charging speed. While the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India has 18W Fast Charging support, the Poco M2 Pro comes with 33W Fast Charging. There is the same 6.7-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole cutout in the middle.
The phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, a 5,000mAh battery, Quad Cameras (48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP), 16MP Selfie camera & Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.
