Poco M2 with Helio G80, 6GB RAM & FHD+ Display launched

Poco M2 is the latest budget offering from the brand & as we knew already, this is just a rebranded Redmi 9 Prime but with 6GB RAM. The “Pro” version of this phone, i.e., the M2 Pro, launched in India in July as the rebrand of Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The M2 offers a Full-HD+ display, MediaTek Helio G80 SOC, 6GB RAM, a 5,000mAh battery & more at a starting price of Rs 10,999, which means there is now no reason to go for the 128GB variant of Redmi 9 Prime, which comes at Rs 11,999 since you are getting more RAM by paying less.

POCO M2 – DESIGN & SPECIFICATIONS

The only design change is that on the back, there isn’t a circular design around the camera setup, which is there on the Redmi 9 Prime. Instead, the phone has a two-tone design, so there is a smooth finish on the top & a textured finish on the bottom. The rest of the design remains the same.

On the front, there is a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ IPS LCD with a waterdrop notch that houses the 8 Megapixel selfie camera. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as well. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset & there is 6GB LPDDR4X RAM along with 64GB or 128GB storage. There is also a triple-card slot to expand the storage via a MicroSD Card of up to 512GB.

The Quad camera setup includes a primary 13 Megapixel camera paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide, a 5 Megapixel Macro & a 2 Megapixel sensor. The phone comes with a 5,000mAh battery along with 18W Fast Charging support. It is worth mentioning that in the box, you will get a 10W Charger.
