Poco had a global launch event today where the brand unveiled two flagship phones – Poco F7 Pro & Poco F7 Ultra. The F7 Pro is the successor to last year’s F6 Pro, whereas the F7 Ultra marks the beginning of an “Ultra” series from the brand. It is worth mentioning that these are rebranded versions of the Redmi K80 & Redmi K80 Pro (with little changes) which were launched in November last year.
POCO F7 PRO
Starting with the Poco F7 Pro, the phone comes in Blue, Silver, and Black color options. The back has a two-tone design with the portion around the camera module having a unique pattern. Speaking of the camera module, it is circular and placed in the top left corner. There are two cameras on the rear. The phone has a flat metal frame. There is an IP68-rating and stereo speakers. For the first time in a Poco smartphone, we have an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner.
On the front, the Poco F7 Pro has a flat 6.67-inch Quad-HD+ AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 3200 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, 3840Hz PWM dimming, and a 12-bit color depth. The bezels on this phone are pretty slim. The side bezels are 1.6mm and the chin is just 1.9mm.
The chipset is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the phone uses UFS 4.1 storage with LPDDR5X RAM. The battery is 6,000mAh and this is the main difference between the Redmi K80 Pro and the Poco F7 Pro. The Redmi K80 Pro was launched with a bigger 6,550mAh battery. The wired charging speed is the same at 90W.
Speaking of cameras, the phone has a dual camera setup on the rear. The primary rear camera has a 1/1.55″ 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor with OIS and an f/1.6 aperture lens. The secondary camera has an 8MP sensor and takes ultrawide photos. The selfie camera has a 20MP sensor. The rear camera can shoot 8K videos at up to 24fps but the selfie camera is limited to 1080p video recording at up to 60fps.
Finally, the Poco F7 Pro runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2 out of the box. Poco has promised four OS updates for this phone.

POCO F7 ULTRA
The Poco F7 Ultra is a rebadged Redmi K80 Pro and so, it has the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset which scores over 2.8M points on the AnTuTu benchmark as per Poco’s testing. The phone also has a dedicated chip to boost the graphics. It is named “VisionBoost D7” and is built on the 12nm process. The chip offers features like 120fps frame interpolation, 2K super-resolution, and Game HDR.
Design-wise, it is no different than the Poco F7 Ultra except for an extra rear camera and different color options. The phone has a metal frame with a glass back. There is the same display as the Poco F7 Pro, but the display protection is different. The phone uses the “Poco Shield” glass, which is just a different name for Xiaomi’s second-generation dragon crystal glass. The battery is 5,300mAh, smaller than the 6,000mAh battery in the Redmi K80 Pro. The phone supports 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The cameras are different than the Poco F7 Pro. The Poco F7 Ultra has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary camera is the same as the F7 Pro, but the ultrawide camera has an upgraded 32MP sensor. The third camera has a 50MP sensor with a floating telephoto lens and OIS support. The telephoto lens offers a 2.5x optical zoom and can go as close as 10cm to the subject for macro photography. The selfie camera is also upgraded to use a 32MP sensor. It is worth mentioning that the Redmi K80 Pro was launched with a 20MP selfie camera. Even though the selfie camera is upgraded, it is still limited to 1080p 60fps videos at max. The rear camera can shoot 8K videos at up to 24fps.
