Poco F5 & Poco F5 Pro launching globally on May 9

Poco F5 is a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo

In June last year, the Poco F4 was launched in the global market with a Snapdragon 870 chipset and a price tag of €399. Poco has now announced the launch date for the successor, the Poco F5. And alongside that, the company is also launching the Poco F5 Pro. It is worth mentioning that the last time Poco launched a “Pro” phone under the “F” series was in 2020 when the Poco F2 Pro was launched.

Unsurprisingly, the F5 and F5 Pro are rebrands of already launched devices by Redmi. The Poco F5 is a rebranded Redmi Note 12 Turbo, whereas the Poco F5 Pro is expected to be the same phone as the Redmi K60. The Redmi Note 12 Turbo was launched in China last month, and it is the first phone to feature the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SOC.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SOC is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 67W fast charging. The triple camera setup includes a 64MP primary shooter with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro shooter. The selfie camera has a 16MP sensor.

Speaking of the Poco F5 Pro, it is expected to be a rebranded Redmi K60. There is a 6.67-inch Quad-HD+ OLED display with 1400 nit peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The chipset is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SOC, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. The battery size of the Poco F5 Pro is reportedly smaller than the Redmi K60 at 5,160mAh (vs. 5,500mAh), but the charging speed is the same at 67W. Also, the Redmi K60 supports wireless charging in China, but we are unsure if that feature will be in the F5 Pro.
