Poco F4 with Snapdragon 870 goes official for €399
The early-bird price starts at €349!
June 23, 2022
In our previous article, we talked in detail about the Poco X4 GT, the company’s latest mid-range phone focused on performance. Alongside that phone, the company also launched Poco F4, a high-end phone powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. This is the successor to Poco F3, but if we talk about the specifications, there isn’t a huge difference between the two phones. The Poco F3 launched at €349 last year whereas the F4 at €399. So, there isn’t a big difference in the pricing too.
The Poco F4 is a rebranded Redmi K40S that has been available in China since March. The design, therefore, is the same except for the branding. There is a glass back and a plastic frame. The phone has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos but lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. For a better haptic experience, it has an X-axis linear motor. There is also an IR blaster on top.
The fingerprint scanner is still on the side, so Poco seems to have no plans to go for an under-display fingerprint scanner on all of its high-end phones yet.
Under the hood, Poco F4 is powered by the Snapdragon 870 SOC. Yes, this is more than a year-old chip, but still, this is the most balanced SOC under the Snapdragon 800 series. Moreover, the phone has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. For better cooling, the phone has LiquidCool Technology 2.0, which includes a 3112mm² vapor chamber and 7-layer graphite.
On the front, Poco F4 has a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED panel with a Full-HD+ resolution and 1300 nits of peak brightness. This panel supports Dolby Vision & also HDR10+.
There are three cameras on the rear. The primary camera has a 64MP sensor with OIS, making it the first Poco phone to have OIS. Even the Poco F4 GT, priced higher than the F4, does not have OIS for the primary camera. There is an 8MP camera for ultrawide shots and a 2MP camera for macro photos. You can shoot 4K videos at up to 60fps. For selfies, there is a 20MP sensor.
Poco F4 has a 4,500mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging, with the adapter provided in the box. Finally, MIUI 13 runs out of the box.
There are three colors to choose from – Night Black, Moonlight Silver, and Nebula Green. Here is the pricing for various markets –
6GB + 128GB – €399 / ₹27,999
8GB + 128GB – €449 / ₹29,999
12GB + 256GB – ₹33,999
In the European market, Poco is offering an early-bird discount of €50, which brings the starting price down to €349. In the Indian market, Poco is offering an instant ₹1000 off so which brings the price down to ₹26,999 for the base variant. On top of that, if you use SBI Debit/Credit card for payment, you will get a flat ₹3000 discount. So, considering all these offers, the Poco F4 can be bought for as low as ₹23,999, which is an incredible deal!
The first sale takes place on the 27th of June, and you can buy Poco F4 in India via Flipkart. For other markets, it will be available via various retailers, including Amazon, AliExpress, Lazada, Shopee, etc.
