The Poco F4 GT is now official in the global market, and as we already know, this is a rebrand of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. This is the successor to the Poco F3 GT that launched in India in July last year. The F4 GT is a high-end phone with top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC, and the early-bird price starts at €499, which translates to around $530 or ₹40,000.
This phone is targeted toward gamers, and you can get an idea of it by looking at the design. For example, the flash module has a lightning shape, the camera module has RGB lights in it, there are pop-up mechanical triggers on the side, etc. Now, even though this is a gaming-centric phone, it lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a stereo speaker setup with each one, including a tweeter and woofer. There is Dolby Atmos support too. Furthermore, the phone has a triple mic setup for the best audio quality while recording.
The pop-up triggers on the side can be used in not just games but also in normal usage by assigning them to various shortcuts. And since they are pop-up triggers, if you don’t want to you them, they remain hidden. Poco F4 GT also has CyberEngine Super wideband X-axis linear motor, which is perhaps the largest X-axis motor ever in an Android device.
On the front, Poco F4 GT has a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ 10-bit AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, MEMC, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and DisplayMate A+ rating. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
Under the hood, it has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SOC that is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. For better cooling, the phone has LiquidCool Technology 3.0, which includes Dual Vapor Chambers, 6904mm² super-large graphene layer, and 3D high-power graphite.
The camera setup on the rear includes a primary 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro. There is no OIS for the primary camera. The selfie camera has a 20MP Sony IMX596 sensor. The battery size is 4,700mAH, and the phone supports 120W fast charging. You get a 120W adapter in the box.
Finally, Android 12 runs out of the box with MIUI 13 for Poco on top.
Poco F4 GT comes in three colors named Stealth Black, Knight Silver, and Cyber Yellow. Here is the pricing –
- 8GB + 128GB – €499
- 12GB + 256GB – €599
Please note that these are early-bird prices which means after some initial sales, the prices will increase. There is no information on the launch in India, but that should be happening soon. Stay tuned.
