A couple of days ago, Redmi K40 Gaming Edition went official in the Chinese market featuring the Dimensity 1200 SOC and a 120Hz OLED panel. The phone starts at 1,999 Yuan in China, which translates to around $300, which is a really good price. As we knew already, this phone will launch in markets such as India under the Poco brand, and now, we got to know exactly what the name is going to be. Kacper Skrzypek (@kacskrz) shared on his Twitter account that the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will launch in India as the Poco F3 GT.
So assuming that there won’t be any change in the internals, the Poco F3 GT is coming to India with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SOC which would make it one of the first phones with this flagship chipset to launch in India. There is a 120Hz 10-bit flexible OLED panel with 1080p resolution, 8,192 levels of brightness control, HDR10+ support, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Since it is a gaming phone, there are also shoulder buttons that can be activated by the sliders that sit beside them.
The triple camera module on the back includes a primary 64 Megapixel shooter paired with an 8 Megapixel ultrawide and a 2 Megapixel macro camera. There is a 20 Megapixel camera for selfies. Poco F3 GT has a 5,065mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging.
In China, Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes in five storage options, with the base variant having 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The starting price in China is 1,999 Yuan or around Rs 22,999, so in the Indian market, we are expecting the Poco F3 GT to start at around Rs 25-26K. The company has not yet said anything about any smartphone launch.
