Powered by MediaTek Helio G36 SOC

Release Date
April 7, 2023
Starting Price
₹8,499

Last month, Redmi launched its entry-level “A” series phones, the Redmi A2 & Redmi A2+. Both these phones feature Android 13 Go Edition & the only difference is the fingerprint sensor. Today, Poco C51 was launched in the Indian market & it is a rebrand of the Redmi A2+. This is not surprising since the Poco C50 was a rebrand of the Redmi A1+.

Compared to the Poco C50, the most significant upgrade is in performance since the C51 has the MediaTek Helio G36 SOC, compared to the Helio A22. This 12nm chip features an octa-core CPU with Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz. For comparison, the Helio A22 has a quad-core CPU with Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz.

The design remains the same as the C50, so there is a textured finish on the rear, a dual camera setup, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a display with a notch, a micro-USB port on the bottom, and a single speaker on top.

The display is a 6.52-inch 720p LCD with a 60Hz refresh rate & 120Hz touch-sampling rate. The display has Panda Glass protection. There is an 8MP primary rear camera & a 5MP selfie shooter. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and the phone supports 10W charging.

Finally, Android 13 Go Edition runs out of the box, meaning a clean Android experience without bloatware or ads. The phone does have the MIUI dialer instead of the Google dialer.

Poco C51 comes in two colors – Royal Blue & Power Black. The phone has a single storage option – 4GB + 64GB & the price is ₹8,499. The sale starts on April 10, and the special first-day sale price is ₹7,799.
