In October last year, Poco launched its first smartphone under the “C” series, which includes super affordable phones. The phone was called Poco C3, even if it was the first under this series (maybe to make the naming scheme in line with the X & F series). Today, Poco launched its second phone under this series named the Poco C31. Now, looking at the differences in the names, you may be thinking that it includes a lot of upgrades over the last year’s phone, right? Well, no! The C31 is the same phone as the Poco C3 but has a slightly bigger display & a fingerprint scanner.
Design-wise as well, it looks the same as the Poco C3, so there is the same two-tone look on the back where the top portion has a glossy smooth finish whereas the bottom part has a textured finish. There is a triple camera setup on the back, and this time, the phone also has a fingerprint reader. There is a waterdrop notch on the front & just like last year, there is a micro-USB port.
The display on the front is a 6.53-inch 720p LCD & there is MediaTek Helio G35 SOC under the hood. This SOC is paired with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage that is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and you get a normal 10W adapter in the box.
In terms of the cameras, Poco C31 has a triple camera module on the rear where the primary camera has a 13MP sensor, and the other two cameras include 2MP sensors, one for macro & one for depth information. There is a 5MP selfie camera.
And well, that’s it! That’s all about this so-called new phone from Poco. Speaking of the pricing, here is the price of the two storage options for India –
- 3GB + 32GB – ₹8,499
- 4GB + 64GB – ₹9,499
Poco is also offering a discount of ₹500 as the early bird offer. This brings the starting price down to ₹7,999. For comparison, the Poco C3 launched last year at ₹7,499 for the base model. So, this time, you are paying at least ₹500 extra for the fingerprint scanner and a slightly larger display. The sale starts on the 2nd of October on Flipkart.
