Oppo Reno3 Vitality Edition launches with Snapdragon 765 SOC

In December last year, Oppo launched its two new Reno series phones named Reno3 Pro 5G & Reno3 5G. While the Reno3 Pro came with Snapdragon 765G SOC, the Reno3 got the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SOC.

Today, the Oppo Reno3 Vitality Edition launched in China which is almost the same phone has the Reno3 except for the fact that it comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G SOC (not the 765G) instead of the MediaTek SOC and there is a 48 Megapixel primary rear camera instead of a 64MP camera.

The design is exactly the same, i.e., a display with a waterdrop notch on the front & a Quad camera setup on the rear placed vertically on the top left. The color options are new, and that’s not a surprise since the new colors are the only way to identify which one is which when comparing Reno3 & Reno3 Vitality Edition in terms of the design.

There is a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ OLED panel with an under-display fingerprint scanner, 600nit brightness & 20:9 aspect ratio. So, the display is slightly smaller than the 6.5-inch display on the Reno3. The SOC is new, i.e., the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G SOC. There is 8GB RAM & 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage, and that’s the only storage option for the Oppo Reno3 Vitality Edition.

There is a Quad camera setup on the rear that includes a primary 48 Megapixel camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, a secondary 8 Megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that also take macro shots, a 2 Megapixel Black & White sensor & a 2 Megapixel depth sensor. So, the primary camera is a 48MP sensor instead of a 64MP sensor that’s there on the Oppo Reno3. The selfie camera is the same, i.e., a 32MP unit.

Finally, there is a 4,025mAh battery & the phone features 30W Fast Charging. Android 10 runs out of the box with ColorOS 7 on top.

Coming to the pricing now, the Oppo Reno3 Vitality Edition comes in three colors – Gold, Black & White. The price is 2,999 Yuan for the Chinese market & there is 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The price is around 400 Yuan lower than the Oppo Reno3’s starting price of 3,399 Yuan. The phone will be available to buy in China from February 14th.
