Oppo teases dual aperture camera on the Oppo R17 Pro

Oppo recently announced the R17 and it is the world’s first smartphone to feature the all-new Snapdragon 670 processor and the Corning Gorilla Glass 6. If that wasn’t enough, the company is soon launching the Oppo R17 Pro, an upgraded R17 rumored to have the Snapdragon 710 processor. Today, the company teased a feature on R17 Pro that we have seen on the Galaxy S9, S9+ and the Note 9 this year, i.e., the dual aperture camera.

The R17 Pro has a dual aperture camera that can adjust the aperture from F/1.5 to F/2.4, depending on the lighting. So, when you’re taking a photo in low light condition, the camera automatically switches to the wide F/1.5 aperture while it goes back to the F/2.4 aperture when there is enough light available.

Spotted on TENAA recently, the Oppo R17 Pro is coming with a 6.4-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. There is a 3,415mAh battery under the hood, and Android 8.1.0 Oreo runs out of the box. The dual rear camera setup includes a primary 16MP sensor and a secondary 5MP sensor. On the front, there is a 25MP camera.

Let’s wait for the official announcement to know all of the Oppo R17 Pro’s features. It is not known when the announcement is happening but since the R17 is already official, expect the R17 Pro to be announced soon.
