The Oppo Find X8 & Find X8 Pro were officially launched in October last year in the Chinese market. Both phones were launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset and featured impressive camera hardware. The Find X8 Pro had a 1/1.4″ 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor for the primary camera and two telephoto cameras.
The brand is expected to launch the Find X9 series in October, and the key specifications of the Oppo Find X9 Pro have leaked online, courtesy of SmartPrix.

As per the source, the Oppo Find X9 Pro is coming with a 6.78-inch flat LTPO OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is expected to be unveiled on September 22. The camera setup sees some notable changes. The primary camera uses the 1/1.28″ type Sony LYT-828 sensor, the successor to the LYT-818 sensor. The main USP of this sensor is that it can achieve a dynamic range of over 100 decibels, the highest in any Sony sensor. One of the main reasons for this is the Hybrid Frame HDR technology. Clearly, this is a big upgrade over the Sony LYT-808 sensor on the Find X8 Pro.
The ultrawide camera uses the 1/2.76″ 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor, the same as the Find X8 Pro.
There is a periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.56″ 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor and 3x optical zoom. Finally, the phone has a 2MP flicker sensor.
The selfie camera has the same 1/2.76″ 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor as the ultrawide camera.
It is worth mentioning that the Oppo Find X8 Pro featured two telephoto cameras, one with 3x optical zoom and the other with 6x optical zoom. But it looks like this year, we are getting only one telephoto camera, and that too with a maximum of 3x optical zoom. The reason could be a higher resolution sensor on the Find X9 Pro (200MP vs 50MP).
Speaking of the battery, the Find X9 Pro features a massive 7,550mAh battery compared to a 5,910mAh battery in the Find X8 Pro. While we have seen smartphones this year with batteries of 7,000mAh or more, we have hardly seen any premium flagship phones with such a large battery. The phone supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, the same as last year.
The phone will launch with ColorOS 16.
The design has not been shared by the brand yet, but as per leaks, we will see a square-ish camera module this year in the top left corner with the three cameras and the Hasselblad branding. The Oppo Find X8 Pro was launched last year in China with a starting price of ¥5299, or around $740. It was launched in the Indian market at ₹99,999 for the 16GB + 512GB configuration.
