The newest premium flagships from Oppo are here, and they are named Find X5 and Find X5 Pro. In our previous article, we also talked about the Find X5 Lite, which is a mid-range 5G phone. Speaking of the flagships, both the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro have their cameras as the main highlight. These are also the first Oppo phones with Hasselblad branding and the company’s MariSilicon X Imaging NPU to handle the image processing.

OPPO FIND X5

Oppo Find X5

Design-wise, Oppo has kept the design almost the same as the Find X3 series except for the camera module on the back. The back has frosted Matte glass, so fingerprints are not an issue with this finish. There is a curved display on the front with a hole punch cutout for the selfie camera.

Speaking of the cameras first, Find X5 has three on the back. There is a primary camera with a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS, a secondary ultrawide camera with a 50MP Sony IMX766 that can also take macro photos, and a 13MP telephoto camera with 2X Optical Zoom. You can shoot 4K videos at 60fps with the rear cameras. On the front, there is a 32MP camera for selfies, and it can shoot up to 1080p 30fps videos.

The phone has MariSilicon X Imaging NPU, and this one is built on the 6nm process and offers up to 18TOPS AI computing power and 20-bit dynamic range. Oppo says that this NPU is a breakthrough in night photography. You can shoot 4K Ultra Night Videos on this phone with clear and realistic image processing and without an overexposed scene. There is also an Ultra Dark Video feature that lets you shoot videos in extremely dark scenarios and still get ample details. Then there is the Ultra HDR Video feature where the background and foreground are well-exposed while shooting videos.

Speaking of Hasselblad and Oppo’s collaboration, you get Hasselblad’s Natural Color Calibration in this phone, and this is something the OnePlus flagships also have. Apart from that,  there is the Leaf Shutter Sound and XPan mode as well. There are also three filters in the camera app named ‘Serenity,’ ‘Radiance,’ and ‘Emerald.’

The chip powering this phone is the Snapdragon 888, not the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. There is 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

Oppo Find X5

Speaking of the display, the Find X5 has a 6.55-inch 10-bit OLED with 8192-level dimming, FHD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and up to 1000nits brightness. The refresh rate of this panel is 120Hz, and there is a 240Hz touch-sampling rate. The fingerprint scanner sits under the display.

The phone has a 4,800mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging and 30W fast wireless charging. Android 12 runs out of the box with ColorOS 12.1 running on top.

The Find X5 comes in Black and White colors. The price is €999 / £749. The phone will go on sale in Europe on the 14th of March, and pre-orders have already started.

OPPO FIND X5 PRO

OPPO FIND X5 PRO

The Oppo Find X5 Pro is the highest-end premium flagship from the brand for 2022, and design-wise, it is almost the same as Find X5, but instead of a matte glass back, there is a shiny ceramic back. It is also IP68 certified, which is something the Find X5 lacks. It gets the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

There is also a larger display than Find X5 at 6.7-inch, and it is a Quad-HD+ 10-bit LTPO AMOLED with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The battery size is 5,000mAh, and there is support for 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

OPPO FIND X5 PRO

Speaking of cameras, the camera hardware remains the same as Find X5, but the primary camera has 5-axis OIS, which offers more stable videos and better shots than the regular OIS system that the vanilla model has. This 5-axis OIS combines a 2-axis lens and a 3-axis sensor-shift OIS. For selfies, there is a 32 Megapixel Sony IMX709 sensor. The video recording capabilities are the same as for Find X5.

The Find X5 Pro comes in Glazed Black and Ceramic White. It is priced at €1,299 / £1,049. You can pre-order the phone from today, and the sale starts on the 14th of March.
