OnePlus Nord N30 SE 5G goes official as a rebranded Oppo A79

That's a pretty long name!

Apart from its flagship number series and the mid-range phones under the Nord series, OnePlus also launches some budget phones under the Nord series every year. Last year, the OnePlus Nord N30 5G was launched with a Snapdragon 695 5G chipset and a 108MP camera.

The brand has now launched a new phone under the Nord N series, the OnePlus Nord N30 SE 5G. Going by the name, this is the successor to the OnePlus Nord N20 SE, which was launched in 2022 with a MediaTek Helio G35 SOC.

This is a rebrand of the Oppo A79, launched in India in October last year.

The design and color options are the same as the Oppo A79, except that this one has a OnePlus logo on the back. The phone has a polycarbonate build with flat sides, a rectangular camera module with two large circles, and a hole punch design on the front. The phone comes with stereo speakers, a USB Type-C port, and NFC.

The chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 5G, and there is 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. The battery is 5,000mAh and the phone supports 33W fast charging.

There are two rear cameras – a primary camera with a 50MP 1/2.76-inch sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie camera has an 8MP sensor. The phone can shoot 1080p videos at up to 30fps from the front and rear cameras.

The display is a 6.72-inch LCD with a Full-HD+ resolution. OnePlus hasn’t mentioned the refresh rate of the display, but since the Oppo A79 has a 90Hz panel, we expect the same for the Nord N30 SE 5G.

Finally, OxygenOS 13.1 runs out of the box, based on Android 13.

The OnePlus Nord N30 SE 5G comes in two colors – Cyan Sparkle, and Black Satin. In the UAE, the price is AED 599 (~$160).
