Here’s how the OnePlus Nord N20 5G will look like

It is expected to feature the Snapdragon 695 5G SOC

While most of us know OnePlus as a company that makes flagship phones, the company did enter the budget & mid-range segment last year with its Nord series of smartphones. It all started with the launch of the OnePlus Nord last year, which was a mid-range 5G phone from the brand. And just when we thought OnePlus would not launch a phone cheaper than the Nord, we got two new smartphones named the Nord N10 5G & the Nord N100 5G, with the latter being the cheapest OnePlus phone ever at £179. This year as well, we got the OnePlus Nord CE & Nord N200 5G in June and then the OnePlus Nord 2 in July.

Well, the company is working on the successor of Nord N10 5G, and to no surprise, it will be called the Nord N20 5G. The renders of the OnePlus Nord N20 5G are now here, thanks to OnLeaks, who shared these renders with 91Mobiles. These high-quality renders of the phone show that the N20 5G looks very different from all the OnePlus phones under the Nord series so far.

Design-wise, the phone is beautiful all around with those flat sides, a unique-looking camera setup on the rear, and a flat display on the front with minimal bezels all around. NGL, this does give the OnePlus X vibes with that design since that phone also had a similar look. It too had flat sides & a compact form factor.

Also, just like in case of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, the N20 5G gets a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. There is a USB Type-C port on the bottom, along with the speaker grill. We hope that the stereo speaker setup is still here. There is no alert slider on this phone which is a shame because this is one of those design elements that are unique to the OnePlus devices. The power button is placed on the right side, whereas the volume rockers are on the left side along with the SIM card tray.

We also got some leaked specifications of this phone, so the OnePlus Nord N20 5G is said to have a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel with an in-display fingerprint scanner. For comparison, the N10 5G had a 90Hz LCD and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Under the hood, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 695 5G SOC, which was recently launched by Qualcomm. One of the highlights of this new chip is that it supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G. Compared to the Snapdraghon 690, the 695 SOC offers 15% performance boost & up to 30% better  GPU performance.

The camera setup does not sound very promising on this phone since that triple camera setup is expected to include a primary 48 megapixel sensor along with two 2MP sensors. For selfies, you will get a 16MP camera.

OnePlus Nord N20 5G is quite a slim phone at 7.7mm (excluding the camera lenses). Finally, it is also expected that OnePlus may launch this phone as the Nord CE2, instead of Nord N20 5G, but the chances of this happening are quite slim.

We are expecting the launch to happen soon since the N10 5G launched more than a year ago.
