The OnePlus Nord 3 was a pretty interesting phone last year. On one hand, the phone had a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset & a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor. But, on the other hand, the phone had heating issues, and the battery life was not very impressive, even though it had a 5,000mAh battery.
With the OnePlus Nord 4 now official in India and Europe, the company should be confident that this phone won’t have all those issues. There are two main reasons for that. First, the phone uses a Qualcomm chipset, and second, it has a massive battery under the hood.
The OnePlus Nord 4 features a metal body, which we rarely see in smartphones these days. Both the back (except the top half) and the frame are made of aluminum, giving a solid and premium feel. The top half of the rear is glass, and the company says it had to reorganize the internal components because of the metal back design. The phone weighs around 199.5g, and the thickness is around 8mm.
The phone has an alert slider on the left side, volume rockers and the power button on the right side, a USB Type-C port on the bottom, and stereo speakers.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord 4 uses the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage (UFS 3.1 in the 128GB variant). This is the most powerful chipset under the 7-series, and this is pretty evident from the AnTuTu benchmark score of over 1.5 Million points. The battery is 5,500mAh and the phone supports 100W fast wired charging. Due to the metal back, there is no wireless charging support.
On the front, the OnePlus Nord 4 has a 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 2,150 nits peak brightness. The display has Aqua Touch support, so you can use it with wet fingers.
Speaking of the cameras, there are two on the rear. The primary camera uses a 1/1.95″ 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor, and the ultrawide camera uses an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor. There is support for 4K 60fps video recording. For selfies, the phone has a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor, and this camera can shoot up to 1080p 30fps videos.
Finally, the phone runs on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14.1 out of the box. The company has promised four years of Android updates and six years of security patch updates for the device.
