OnePlus confirms that OnePlus 6T will launch with in-screen fingerprint scanner

With the OnePlus 3T, the company started launching two flagships every year. We saw the same thing when the OnePlus 5T launched. At the same price of the OnePlus 5, the 5T featured an 18:9 display & better cameras. Until now, there was no official word from the company on the rumored OnePlus 6T but today, OnePlus officially confirmed that it is indeed going to launch 6T this year and unlike last two years, this isn’t going to feature just a few upgrades like slightly better cameras or a better screen.

This device will feature something that we are yet to see on any phone from companies like Apple, Samsung, LG or Google. The in-screen fingerprint reader can be seen on almost every mid-range or flagship phone from Oppo or Vivo. OnePlus is going to follow the same as the company has now confirmed in an exclusive interview with CNET that the OnePlus 6T will launch with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. OnePlus is calling it ‘Screen Unlock’ and talking about this feature, the company said –

We unlock our phones multiple times a day, and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action. By adding this feature as an addition to other display unlocking options such as Face Unlock, users will have options to unlock the display in a way that is most efficient for them.
