OnePlus entering the mid-range segment again with the OnePlus NORD was definitely a surprise but it looks like OnePlus is preparing for another surprise. Well, as per a report by Android Central, OnePlus is soon launching an entry-level device with the codename “Clover”. The specs of OnePlus Clover were also shared by Android Central.
So, the phone features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SOC which is a chip for the entry-level or super cheap smartphones. There are huge improvements over the Snapdragon 450 & you will get it when we say that there is almost 70% better CPU performance & 60% better GPU performance.
There is 4GB RAM & 64GB storage along with a microSD card slot, something that we last saw in a OnePlus phone back in 2015 when the OnePlus X launched.
The display on the front is a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution (Yes, 720p!) & underneath, the OnePlus Clover has a massive 6,000mAh battery. There is 18W Fast Charging as well. The triple camera setup on the rear includes a primary 13 Megapixel camera paired with two 2MP sensors. Finally, OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10 runs out of the box & the phone has a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.
A few days ago, the Oppo A53 launched with almost the same specs with the only exception being the battery size (5000mAh on the A53). So, this hints at the OnePlus “Clover” being a rebranded Oppo A53 for some markets. Well, that’s just speculation.
Finally, Android Central reported that the price of OnePlus Clover is going to be around $200. Well, this is the first time OnePlus is going to launch an entry-level phone so let’s see what the company names it.
