A couple of months back, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 was officially unveiled, the most powerful smartphone chipset from Qualcomm. It is going to power most of the upcoming premium flagships, and we have already seen phones with this chipset, such as the OnePlus 15, Xiaomi 17 series, iQOO 15, Realme GT 7 Pro, Honor Magic 8 series, and more. While we did not get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 last year, there will be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. It is set to be unveiled soon, and one of the first phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is going to be the OnePlus Ace 6T. The Ace 6T is launching in the Chinese market soon.
The OnePlus Ace 6T was spotted on Geekbench recently with the model number ‘PLR110’, and the Geekbench listing has revealed the benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
On single core, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 scores around 3,000 points, while the multi-core score is over 10,000 points. The CPU has a 2 + 6 core configuration, where the prime cores are clocked at up to 3.8GHz and the rest of the cores at 3.32GHz. The GPU is the Adreno 840, and while it sounds like there is the same GPU as the 8 Elite Gen 5, we are pretty sure the one inside the 8 Gen 5 is slightly less powerful.
It is worth mentioning that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 scores around 3,800 on single-core and around 12,000 on multi-core. Also, the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite scored around 3200 on single core and under 10,000 on multi-core. The reason why the 8 Elite had a higher single-core score versus the 8 Gen 5 is probably because the prime cores were clocked at up to 4.32GHz, compared to 3.8GHz in the 8 Gen 5. Moreover, the other performance scores inside the 8 Elite’s CPU were clocked at up to 3.53GHz, versus 3.32GHz in the 8 Gen 5.
The OnePlus Ace 6T is expected to launch with a battery of over 8,000mAh, which should pair well with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The phone has a 165Hz display like the OnePlus 15.
Let’s see with what name the OnePlus Ace 6T launches in the global market.
