Massive leak shows OnePlus 9 in the wild along with major specs

So the price is the only thing that's still a mystery

This is it! This is OnePlus 9. Well, in a massive leak today, the final design of the phone was revealed along with the major specifications & all of this was shared by an anonymous source with PhoneArena. That’s not it. Max Jambor, a well-known tipster on Twitter, also confirmed that this is indeed how the phone actually looks like. So with this leak, we don’t think there is anything left to know about the device except for, obviously, the price.

Speaking of the design shown by these images, the OnePlus 9 has a flat display on the front so after experimenting with a curved display on the OnePlus 8, the company is now going back to the flat screen design, at least for the non-Pro model. There is a single hole-punch cutout on the top left corner, so its placement remains unchanged from the OnePlus 8. Flipping the phone over & we see a rectangular camera setup design, something that almost every smartphone brand has gone for this year. This camera module has three cameras & there are two big camera lenses paired with a relatively small sensor.

Don’t get confused by that logo on the rear because it is what OnePlus uses on its prototype devices. The camera module also has the “Ultrashort” text on it & we have no idea what that means. It might not make an appearance on the camera module of the retail unit.

Along with the images of the phone, the source also shared the screenshots that reveal the specs of the phone. So OnePlus 9 has the model number “LE2117” & features a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate & Full-HD+ resolution. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SOC & it is paired with 8GB RAM & 128GB storage. Talking about the cameras, the screenshots shows that there is a 12 Megapixel rear camera & a 4 Megapixel selfie camera, but these are definitely megapixels after the pixel binning which means there is a 48 Megapixel primary camera on the rear & a 16 Megapixel selfie camera.

As the earlier leak has revealed, the phone has two 48 Megapixel cameras so apart from the primary, there is another 48 Megapixel ultrawide camera. OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 runs out of the box.
